Gideon founded AST in 1986 as the first independent ASIC Design Center in Israel, later adding the EDA and ASSP lines.
A Graduate of the Technion in EE, Gideon served as Reliability and later on as a R&D Engineer at the elite IDF unit that has produced many of the leading Israeli Hi-Tech entrepreneurs.
After his discharge from the Army, Gideon moved to Silicon Valley and worked as a Design Manager at AMI in Santa Clara, and later as a VP of Engineering at Universal Semiconductor, a Gate Array company.
Gideon published numerous technical articles and holds 7 patents in Semiconductor Design and Technology.
Gideon has a MSEE and an MBA from the University of Santa Clara, California.
